“Tank Gyal is a Vancouver-born-and-raised DJ and event promoter. She is the creator and resident of Vancouver's longest running reggae dancehall weekly Ting, which has been rocking every Thursday for over 12 years. She is also the First Lady of Vancouver's notorious Lighta! Sound. She has played shows around the world and opened for dozens of toppa top artists. Her DJ sets are a rapid fire massacre of the hottest Jamaican music from the past, present and future mixed with a heavy dose of dubplates. Tank Gyal always attracts the ladies to the dancefloor but can rock the turntables as hard as any man.”

SOCA DJ
#RPPSound - the vibrance and rhythm of the Caribbean fueled by hot sun, local rum and a rich ethnic history where many cultures collided and fused. This has produced among other things the most energetic, exciting, happy, dance music that is my passion. Soca music derived from Calypso music in the early 70’s with heavy influence of American disco and sounds of big brass bands - when it comes to Soca and Calypso music of which I am music takes you away from your daily grind brings you to your feet, energizes, empowers, and brings joy. It is music with these characteristics that makes it to the top of my music crates.”

Special guest performance by Caleb Hart alongside Tank Gyal, who came together in 2017 to open for Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley for a sold out Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver.
“Though Hart’s lyrics strayed into the profound, with heartfelt choruses like ‘we don’t wanna live this way anymore,’ the mood never dipped. Within seconds of taking the stage Hart brought the whole room to its feet.”
