Join us for an incredible evening of fantastic music, delectable food, and appearances by Indigenous artists and supporters of the
Mi tse’ t’akw’ (Coming Home) Campaign
Mateada is continuing its long-standing support for the Indigenous-led Stqeeye’ Learning Society with this exciting fundraiser to support the work of the Quw’utsun (Cowichan) people in their ancestral territory of Xwaaqw’um (Burgoyne Bay valley)! Coming Home is a once-in-a-generation campaign that combines land acquisition with the expansion of Stqeeye’s work on the land. With the campaign nearing its halfway point, the land has been secured, but that is just the beginning! Now they need to create a native plant nursery for 80,000 plants annually to support their land restoration work, establish a campground for their Youth on the Land retreats and hire staff to ensure the growth of these important programs. These programs knit together many projects, including carbon sequestration, critical habitat protection and food security and sovereignty.

Support the campaign to help Stqeeye’ in their work in land-based learning, restoration of wetlands and streams, and job creation for Indigenous youth.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
This evening starts with the incomparable menu at Mateada - come ready for a fantastic meal by chef by Haan Palcu-Chang! (Not included in ticket price but not to be missed!) And inventive non-alcoholic librations that are delectable! Then the music event at 6pm is two-fold. We'll have some amazing performances streamed in the lounge by wonderful artists. And artists will be performing live from the Mateada stage during the event as well. So it will go back and forth between the livestream happening on the projector here to live performances in the venue. The $35 ticket grants you access and a front row seat to all the performances! The livestream itself, for those who can’t join us, will have no cost to participate in - and we will share the link as the event draws near.
Tickets are $35 :) get them here!
