June 2nd at Mateada: An Evening of Jazz featuring The Frank Huether Trio and The K-Tones

For all music lovers out there Mateada presents an evening of "jazz", both old and new, with two local jazz based groups. It's an evening of great melodies, luscious harmonies, infectious rhythms, some new songs, some old and of course there will be improvisation featuring Kate and Tony of The K-Tones and, The Frank Huether Trio with Bob Delion on bass, Randall Miron on drums and Frank Huether on piano. Come on out and support your local musicians.

The K-Tones are a part of the current revival of instrumental music as a mainstream artform. Fronted by Salt Spring's own flute meister Tony Tone and featuring Kate Leahy on keyboards, The K-Tones present their own take on contemporary groove jazz and more. Using the latest in digital technology combined with their classical training and years of performance experience, The K-Tones have created their signature sound and a dynamic, unique and entertaining presentation of live music. The Frank Huether Trio

The Frank Huether Trio has quickly gained a reputation as one of Salt Spring's top jazz groups. Featuring Salt Spring legends Bob Delion on bass, Randal Miron on drums and Frank Huether on piano, The Trio will be presenting their take on jazz standards from The Great American SongBook. A must see for all lovers of mainstream jazz.
