“Staggeringly good" -Tom Power, CBC
Mateada Presents:
T. Nile and the Flames
featuring Jack Garton and Melissa Bandura
Three multi-instrumentalists who play Banjo! Accordion! Trumpet! Fiddle! Guitar! Percussion! and Three Part Harmonies!
Straight from the islands of BC, award-winning T. Nile brings her Canadian folk supergroup T. Nile and the Flames to Mateada to kick off her “Reverie Reprise” single release.
A third generation troubadour, T. Nile's father became known as Dan The Man the One Man Band, following in the footsteps of his mentor Jesse Fuller who inspired Bob Dylan to pick up the harmonica. Her mom, Francine Renaud, is an accomplished visual artist and taught Tamara how to sing. From the age of six until her teenage years, young T. accompanied Dan the Man as they toured the West Coast and Australia in a home-made RV.
Today, T. Nile expresses her roots in musical offerings from folk melodies and western guitars to bright banjo and renegade beats. With The Flames Nile has teamed up with two of her longtime musical collaborators Jack Garton and Melissa Bandura. Expect a high energy show featuring banjo, accordion, trumpet, fiddle, guitar, three part harmonies and percussion.
