Currently living in Cowichan Bay, Jonas spent the previous six years bouncing between Vancouver Island and Berlin Germany. While in Berlin, he worked as a songwriter under Sony ATV publishing. In his formative years, he co-founded the Vancouver band, Headwater which toured all over Europe and Canada for nearly a decade. His most recent collaboration and release was a project called Shandel and Samuels out of Norway. Today, you can expect his live shows to deliver a broad collection of solo originals and collaborations from over the years, presented with a rich voice, wry sense of humour, juicy finger style guitar skills and playful banter; he skillfully knows how to bring a room together. Unabashedly present, cheeky and passionate about good music and rhythm, he genre bends and delivers a lovingly curated mix of bluesy, rootsy, poppy and freewheeling tunes. He may even tickle your senses with a few Johhny Cash covers, after all, he portrayed Johnny Cash at the Chemainus Theatre as well as productions all over Canada. When Jonas isn’t playing music, you can find him gardening, farming and cuddling with his two cats, Pistachio and Ophie.
