Sharon Bailey Album Release Show (w/ Dylan Stone)

  • small plates live music (map)

Salt Spring's own Sharon Bailey takes an Americana playbook and translates it into an original blend of alt country, folk roots and rock. The singer/songwriter's 2018 album The Heart of Everything, produced on Salt Spring by Daryl Chonka, is now followed up with Play Me A Song, produced by virtuoso musician Adam Dobres on Pender Island and mixed by Juno-nominated multi-instrumentalist Adrian Dolan. The result is an engaging blend of alt-country, folk roots and rock. Inspired by such artists as Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams and Natalie Merchant, Bailey's lush and luminous new work showcases melodic hooks and memorable lines amidst the stellar musicianship. Her music can be heard on Spotify and at: sharonbaileymusic.com.

The show will feature Adam Dobres (The Wailin' Jennies, Toni Childs, Pierre Schryer, Daniel Lapp on guitar, Tyler Lieb (Leeroy Stagger, Sarah Osborne Richard Moody) on pedal steel, Dylan Stone (The Unfaithful Servants) on bass, and Dana Tower (Kurt Loewen, Brett Smith Daniels, Buena Buya) on drums.

Opening the night will be Victoria based singer/songwriter Dylan Stone. Dylan was nominated in 2020 for a Canadian Folk Music Award (New/Emerging Group) with his band The Unfaithful Servants. With his rock & roll outfit, The Dylan Stone Band has warmed up stages for the likes of Keith Urban, EVERLAST and Alejandro Escovedo. An interesting and storied career has led him to perform on stage with musical heavies including Robert Randolf and Colin James. Dylan’s predominantly folk-rock style of music embodies a deep respect for the acoustic roots and folk traditions but also an admiration for sonic landscapes and the power of electric music.
